WILDLIFE DEFENDERS, a program of Bridges for Brain Injury, visited Westminster on March 12, 2017. The presenters are people who are recovering from, or learning to overcome, traumatic brain injury or other debilitating circumstances.
Practicing and honing speaking skills, improving social skills, and learning about the animals is part of the healing therapy of Wildlife Defenders. Traveling to speak to various groups and agencies spreads awareness and encourages preservation of the wildlife on our planet. Thank you, Wildlife Defenders!

THE FAITH IN PLAIN ENGLISH
This column exists to help take the mystery out of "Christian-ese" and to make the faith a little more understandable and a little less intimidating.
From the latin "resurrectio", meaning to come back to life again.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundational teaching of Christianity. It's based upon this belief - that Christ overcame the power of death and came out of the tomb alive - that the Christian faith stands.
Christians also believe, as the Scriptures teach, that there will be a resurrection of all who have died at the end of time.
"Resurrection" is also used when referring to the other "deaths" in our lives: death of relationships, loss of a job, loss of health, crushing disappointment. Our sure hope in Christ causes us to believe that, after these losses, there is always new life. After death, there is resurrection. Always.
Jesus said, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live. He who lives and believes in Me shall never die."
